Dr Peysh Patel is an internationally-acclaimed consulting cardiologist at the Harborne Hospital, Birmingham. He is capable in all aspects of adult cardiology, including palpitations, breathlessness, and pain in the chest. He specialises in cardiac devices such as the pacemaker and fibrillatory, heart failure, cardio-oncology, and preventative cardiology, including the management of hypertension and cholesterol.
Dr Patel has a masters from Cambridge University in Natural Sciences and had a sub-internship at Harvard Medical School, before continuing his postgraduate training in Leeds, augmented with additional observerships at Wythenshawe Hospital and Royal Papworth Hospital and a peri-CCT fellowship in complex devices. Dr Patel has had an active BSE accreditation in echocardiography since 2016, a PGC with distinction in clinical education, and in 2018 he completed his PhD in Medicine, which was funded by the British Heart Foundation, at Leeds University.
He is an active research in the field of cardiology, and has more than 100 publications in his name, and has authored a book titled “Cardiology at its Core” (Wiley, 2023). He is internationally board-accredited in cardiac devices (CCDS) and currently sits on Education Committee for British Cardiovascular Society (BCS). Dr Patel also practices at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
