Dr Sudhakar George is a highly skilled consultant interventional and structural cardiologist based in Birmingham who specialises in adult cardiology. His areas of expertise include chest pain, breathlessness, dizziness, palpitations and collapse. Notably, he is highly proficient in cardiac catheterisation, angioplasty, and the use of intravascular imaging and pressure wire assessment, as well as in the treatment of severe aortic stenosis with transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI).
Dr George consults privately at The Harborne Hospital. With over 15 years’ experience, he brings a wealth of experience gained from some of the most prestigious institutions, previously holding roles in Cambridge, Bristol, and Brighton before establishing himself in Birmingham.
A Cambridge University graduate, Dr George earned his MBBChir in 2005 and subsequently completed a research MD in structural cardiology at the University of Sussex, focusing on cutting-edge research in the field of patent foramen ovale. His subspecialty training in interventional cardiology was undertaken in the West Midlands Deanery. He later accomplished a prestigious international fellowship in percutaneous coronary intervention, sponsored by the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society, at the Green Lane Unit in Auckland.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr George is actively involved in the latest advancements in cardiology and has an active research portfolio. He also holds an Associate Lectureship at the University of Birmingham, where he contributes to the training and development of future cardiologists, and maintains memberships with the Royal College of Physicians and the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society.
