I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Dr Jamil-Copley. The consultation with her was excellent. She made me feel at ease and was very thorough in asking questions and giving feedback/advice.

Having first been diagnosed with AF in 2016, I was treated by Dr..Jamil -Copley with Cardioversion and subsequently visited her clinics as an NHS patient. After 3 further episodes requiring Cardioversion I then moved as a private patient with Dr.Jamil - Copley for my first ablation. This reduced the AF episodes considerably but following further consultation I underwent a second ablation privately and this resulted in me being free of AF for the next 3 years and in the meantime being discharged with an open appointment back to the NHS. Since then I have had only one episode of AF which was corrected by the drugs prescribed as pill in the pocket. Following this I have had consultation with Dr Jamil- Copley again and am now discharged following full investigation of my condition. During the last 8 years of being in Dr Jamil- Copley's care I have only ever received treatment, reassurance and follow up at the highest level of care possible. Her proffesionalism and dedication to her role is probably the best you could receive anywhere whilst her manner and smile fills you with the confidence needed to understand exactly the path you will be taking. I consider myself very lucky to have been placed in the care of Dr Jamil - Copley 8 years ago and cannot express my level of appreciation for all she and her team have done for me.

If I ever have to have this done again I will insist that I Dr Jamil-Copley does it. I have no doubts that her expertise and professionalism would once again deliver the best possible result. The procedure has been 100% successful and I'm delighted. On the day I was surprised by the number of people in the team and impressed by how well they worked together. I also valued Dr Jamil-Copley's detailed report of the procedure once I had woken up enough to hear it. Suggestions for improvement? I have none.

Dr Jamil-Copley's biog read very well so I went to see her in 2023. She's no nonsense, clear & concise, uber-professional and confident. I felt immediately reassured. I had AF since 2013, my NHS Dr and local cardiologist did nothing but put me on meds to manage it. I then fell into the NHS void of forgotten patients. When having a Well-Man check with my private Dr mid 2023, he suggested that I shouldn't accept being in AF for the rest of my life so I researched Cardiologists locally. Dr Jamil-Copley's biog read very well so I went to see her. She's no nonsense, uber-professional and confident but told me she felt 10yrs in AF was going to be difficult to return to a normal rhythm. Undeterred, we went with a Cardio-Version which was successful on the 2nd charge but only lasted 1 month. So a 2nd was successfully carried out on the first charge and I asked to be booked in for Ablation surgery which went ahead in Oct 2023. I've been fine ever since. A few heart beats have felt stuttering and 'heavy' but can easily, in hind-sight, be put down to stressful situations (of which I had many in late 2023) and over indulging on Margaritas! I would, and indeed have, recommended Dr Jamil-Copley, so too has my private Doctor - Dr Adam Connor of AC Medical in Nottingham.

From our first meeting with Dr Copley she was honest, totally professional, informative and realistic to the situation. Throughout our journey under her care she remained positive, supportive and realistic. Listening and discussion of our concerns was always an option and even out of hours contact was possible with any concerns via email. My life is now back on track thanks to her remarkable intervention and i am well underway to full recovery from a difficult atrial fibrillation problem. Dr Copley is a very special lady and to me there is nobody any better for atrial fibrillation related issues. She is remarkable.

My first consultation with Dr Shahnaz Jamil-Copley was in September 2022. Following a visit to my GP  I was anxious and extremely worried that I had been told that I had a heart problem.   From the moment I walked into her consulting room, I felt at ease. Shahnaz has a warm and approachable manner that instantly puts you at ease. She took the time to explain everything in simple terms, making sure I understood my condition and the treatment options. No medical jargon, just plain English. She listened to all my concerns and answered every question patiently. I never felt rushed, which is rare these days. Shahnaz possesses a rare combination of expertise, compassion, and excellent communication skills. She took the time to thoroughly explain my diagnosis and treatment options, ensuring I understood every detail without feeling overwhelmed. Her ability to break down complex medical information into clear, understandable terms is truly remarkable. What truly sets Shahnaz apart is her genuine concern for her patients. She listens attentively to all my questions and concerns, providing thoughtful and comprehensive answers. I never feel rushed during our consultations. Her meticulous approach to care and her dedication to staying current with the latest advancements in cardiology gave me immense confidence in the treatment plan. I leave each appointment feeling reassured and well-informed about my condition and the steps we were taking to manage it. Shahnaz’s professionalism and expertise are evident.  She is highly skilled and has undertaken both a cardioversion and cardiac ablation procedure for me – both very successful.  I literally trusted her with my life. If you are seeking a cardiologist who combines top-notch medical expertise with exceptional patient care, look no further than Dr. Shahnaz Jamil-Copley. I am incredibly grateful to have found such a remarkable physician and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone in need of cardiac care.

Dr JC has been my consultant for the last 6 months of a journey that started almost 3 1/2 years ago with non ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy. In simple terms a heart failure brought about by an infection (suspected links to early Covid). My case was prolonged, with aborted procedures and scans - due to administrative errors - difference of opinions and the impacts of a National Heath service strained by a worldwide pandemic By Early 2023 I was growing increasingly concerned that time was passing and a long term prognosis (whilst apparently more favourable than at the beginning of 2020) just didn’t seem to be becoming any clearer or justified with evidence. I felt a little ‘adrift’ on a sea of uncertainty, with no compass or guide. This all changed in February 2023 from a single consult following an equipment failure on admission for a procedure. Emotions and tensions high, I was listened to by Dr JC and her team (my first audience with them since my case was passed to them) and a plan was drawn together. I’m not going to set Dr JC on a pedestal (which she rightly deserves - don’t tell her this) but the plan has been executed down to the last detail culminating with a VT ablation in July and I’m now left with hope. I’m not the most worthy patient - there are others that have bigger hills to climb than I do, but I’m grateful for the Trent Cardiac team and their leading consultants for being on my side turning this case around and helping me with my treatment. It’s worthy to say that whilst in recovery the ACU the team were so attentive. I don’t think I was left beyond 20 seconds before someone answered a bed call (night or day) and always with a supportive and caring manner. When I thanked Dr JC for the attention on my case in a follow up consultation, I was corrected that it was no special circumstance - this WAS the standard! These reviews are testament to this and I had to share my experiences. Thanks everyone from the Left AND Right side of my heart ❤️ !!!

This doctor has saved my husbands life! It’s as simple as that. As a family we trust her completely. If things can be fixed she will make sure it’s fixed. My husband is so incredibly special to all of us, he is our strength. The teams that work with her are pretty amazing too! We are very sure we couldn’t have been better looked after. Thank you from all of us

2 years ago I seemed to be a perfectly healthy person living my life to the full. My husband and I were just embracing the first few months of our retirement. Then tragically and totally unexpectedly, he died whilst doing what he loved, playing a round of golf. Within 36 hours of that happening, I woke up on the floor during the night. My heart was pounding and I was breathless. I went to A&E and after many hours my heart slowed down to a manageable pace. A&E told me it might happen again or it may just be a one off. 6 subsequent visits to A&E I decided to contact the Nuffield hospital who referred me to Shahnaz Jamil -Copley. She listened to everything I said and explained the issue in terms which I could understand. She even sketched a drawing which was extremely helpful as I have zero medical knowledge. She also organised for me to wear a heart monitor which captured the events. I even purchased a kadia heart monitor for my own use and piece of mind. I was diagnosed with atrial flutter, which shahnaz carried out a painless ablation procedure to correct. She explained the success rate and reasons why and also the percentage chance to then go on to develop atrial fibrillation. I was unlucky and went on to develop A Fib. I called Shahnaz during an episode and left her a message. She rang me back within 15 minutes. She told me to start taking my meds again and she would perform an AFib procedure as soon as possible, which she did. At all times I really felt she was there for me. After the healing time from the procedure was complete ,I was able to stop taking the medication but I was too anxious to stop. Shahnaz listened and understood my fears. So we agreed together to keep on the meds until I felt ready. I had regular follow up appointments to see how I was and to talk through my fears. Today is my 58th day without any meds. The first few weeks I felt like I was going to relapse but didn’t. Shahnaz explained that my heart has been controlled by drugs for a couple of years and so is not to be unexpected. She also discussed taking steps with cardiovascular exercise. I have now joined a gym which I go to 6 days a week and generally walk the 3 mile round trip to and from it. I honestly feel the best I’ve felt in over a couple of years. I just want to say a massive thank you shahnaz, I feel like you’ve held my hand all the way and given me my life back and for that I am beyond grateful. If reading my journey gives even the slightest glimmer of hope to another person, I will be truly happy. Just remember, there really is a light at the end of this dark tunnel when you’ve got Shahnaz fighting your corner
