Dr Shripati Upadhyaya is a chartered clinical psychologist who is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. In his career spanning over 40 years, he has been a long-time member of the NHS working in the Autism and Learning Disability Services. He has also assisted many patients in the private sector at The Yorkshire Clinic, one of West Yorkshire's leading private hospitals.
He has leading expertise in a wide range of conditions including autism, learning disabilities, ADHD, mental capacity assessments, cognitive behavioural therapies (CBT) and mindfulness. He also provides paediatric services to children with autism. He had key responsibility in the development of autism services provided by Bradford District Care Trust.
Since 1990, Dr Upadhyaya has delivered regular workshops, lectures, seminars and courses for senior managers and support staff in health and social services. Furthermore, he spent 14 years as Honorary Lecturer at Leeds University teaching on autism, Asperger's syndrome and cognitive therapy in learning disability.
Not only has he dedicated his career to patient care and the teaching of professionals as well as students, but also to research: he has produced 25 publications consisting of his own book, nine articles in edited books and 17 papers in professional journals.
