Mr Shuaibu Dambatta is a reputable and experienced consultant neurosurgeon who sub-specialises in the management of spinal conditions such as back pain, neck surgery, and arm and leg pain, and posseses a special interest in minimally invasive surgery, deformity, chiari malformation, vertebroplasty, cervical arthoplasty, trauma, degenerative spinal conditions, neuromodulation including spinal cord stimulation, intrathecal morphine and baclofen.
He has been working in the NHS since 2002 and has trained in various neurosurgical centres across the UK including the Wessex Neurosurgical Centre in Southampton, Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge and Ninewells University Hospital in Dundee. Mr Dambatta undertook his higher surgical speciality training in Neurosurgery at the Northern Deanery between 2007 – 2017 in Newcastle and Middlesborough. He undertook a Wellcome Trust Clinical PhD Fellowship at the Wellcome Trust Research Centre in University of Dundee and the Sir James Spence Institute, University of Newcastle (2009 – 2012).
He undertook the Post-CCT Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) approved Senior Spinal Fellowship at the Golden Jubilee Regional Spinal Centre at James Cook University Hospital, Middleborough (2017 – 2018) focusing on adolescent and adult deformity, minimally invasive surgery and all aspects of complex spinal neurosurgery. He is an advanced trauma life support instructor and was the neurosurgery representative on the Regional Major Trauma Board (2020 – 2021).
He has a keen interest in training the next generation of neurosurgeons. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons England and holds memberships of both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Glasgow by examination. He was the operating neurosurgeon on the BBC’s “An hour to save your life” program in 2016”.
He holds a full time NHS contract in Hull University Teaching Hospitals and an honorary contract at York University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Dambatta runs his private practice at the Spire Hull and East Riding Hospital in Hull and operates in a number of hospitals across Lincolnshire and Yorkshire including BMI Thornbury in Sheffield, St Hugh’s Hospital in Grimbsy, Barlborough Hospital in Chesterfield. He runs clinics in Grantham, Skegness, Gainsborough, Spalding, Sheffield, Grimsby, York and Hull.

Good morning. Dr Dambatta's number is not going through, I want to get a breakdown of the amount and process for surgery for my spine. I cnt walk, I am currently on a wheel chair and I need to come over to UK for medical assistance and I would need a letter to process my visa.
