Professional statement

Miss Tanaya Sarkhel is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon based at the Surrey Orthopaedic Clinic in Chertsey. After qualifying from the Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School, Miss Sarkhel went on to complete her orthopaedic training at St George's Hospital. She also completed training in two sub-specialty fellowships at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre, Derby and the Epsom Shoulder Unit, and is a full member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH).

Following her sub-specialty training, Miss Sarkhel presented her research at the British Elbow and Shoulder Society for which she gained an award. Miss Sarkhel has been providing specialist orthopaedic and musculoskeletal care as a consultant since 2008 and has expertise in hand and wrist surgery, treating conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome and Dupuytren's contracture.
