Miss Theresa Freeman-Wang is a highly experienced consultant gynecologist with a distinguished career spanning over three decades. She began her medical journey at Bristol University, qualifying in 1989.

During her studies, she developed a keen interest in obstetrics and gynaecology, completing electives at Harvard Medical University and Shanghai Medical University, which laid the foundation for her specialisation. In 1991, Miss Freeman-Wang relocated to the Royal Free Hospital to further her specialist training. Her comprehensive training included a year at the Institute of Urology and another at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital. While a registrar at The Royal Free Hospital, she worked under Mr Patrick Walker, cultivating her enduring interest in colposcopy.

Her research focused on alleviating the anxiety experienced by women with cervical pre-malignancy, with groundbreaking findings demonstrating the efficacy of video information in reducing anxiety levels. Her passion for education also flourished during this period, extending to teaching on both national and international platforms. In 2002, Miss Freeman-Wang was appointed as a full-time gynecology consultant at the Whittington Hospital.

She serves as the lead clinician for both the colposcopy and vulval services, reflecting her commitment to advancing women's health. Her leadership credentials include serving as clinical director for Women and Children’s Health, as well as a Joint RCOG tutor for trainees. Between 2004 and 2010, she represented London on the executive committee of the BSCCP. Currently, she is the Quality Assurance Lead Colposcopist for London, overseeing the quality of colposcopy services across the city. In private practice, she chairs the Colposcopy Users Group at the Portland Hospital in London.

Miss Freeman-Wang is also highly regarded for her expertise in managing vulval conditions, particularly vulval pain. She advocates for a multidisciplinary approach, coordinating care with allied specialties such as dermatology, urogynaecology, surgery, anesthesiology, physiotherapy, psychosexual counseling, and complementary therapies.
