Professor Timothy Rockall is a revered consultant general surgeon who currently practises at The Royal Surrey County Hospital Guildford, and is also currently a professor of surgery at Surrey University. He specialises in endocrine surgery, laparoscopic hernia surgery, and laparoscopic colorectal surgery, amongst many other gastrointestinal-related conditions.
He was previously senior lecturer at Imperial College, London, in the department of Surgical Technology and Oncology and honorary consultant at St. Mary's Hospital London, where he directed the clinical robotics programme. The esteemed and mightily skilled general surgeon has held the position of director of the Minimal Access Therapy Unit (mattu) in Guildford since 2003.
Professor Rockall, who has an active research programme in the fields of minimally invasive surgery, enhanced recovery, prehabilitation and imaging technology, is the former president of The Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, and is currently a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is current chairman of the RCSE Research Committee and Chairman of the RCSE Invited Review Mechanism.
