Dr Nikolay Kralimarkov is a seasoned consultant forensic psychiatrist with extensive expertise across multiple domains of psychiatry, including forensic, general adult, and liaison psychiatry. He practises at VAL Clinic and specialises in anxiety, depression, eating disorders, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and psychotic disorders. 

With over 15 years of in-depth experience in diverse healthcare environments both within the UK and internationally, he has honed his skills in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health disorders, particularly in secure and high-risk settings. Presently, he is a consultant forensic psychiatrist at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust, where he leads multidisciplinary teams in crafting care pathways for mentally disordered offenders.

His responsibilities include offering expert psychiatric consultation, overseeing patient care, and conducting forensic evaluations in both low and medium secure units as well as local prisons. Dr Kralimarkov's career has provided him with a wealth of experience in general adult psychiatry, liaison psychiatry, and prison psychiatry. He has contributed to various NHS Trusts, delivering psychiatric services in settings ranging from acute inpatient units to community-based crisis resolution and home treatment teams.

His work is characterised by a strong commitment to public safety, patient recovery, and the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care. Academically, he holds a MD, which he obtained from the Higher Institute I. P. Pavlov in Bulgaria, along with a master's degree in Public Health and Health Management, and a MBA from the City University of Seattle.
