Muerte súbita
La muerte súbita es una muerte repentina pero natural. La principal causa de muerte súbita es el paro cardiaco.
Se estima que el 12% de las muertes naturales son muertes repentinas. En los pacientes con cardiopatía isquémica, la muerte súbita es la forma más común de muerte.
Popularmente se cree que hay una relación entre la actividad física y la muerte súbita. Pero el impacto global es pequeño.
Algunos fármacos, como diuréticos o antiarrítmicos, pueden causar arritmia y, por lo tanto, muerte súbita. Las drogas, especialmente la cocaína, también pueden causar esta muerte inesperada.
