Mr Kirti M Jasani is a highly respected consultant ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon based in Manchester. With over 15 years of experience, he specialises in a wide array of ocular conditions, including cataracts, retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, and diabetic retinopathy.
Mr Jasani qualified in medicine from the University of Manchester in 2008, before going on to pursue specialty training in ophthalmology with the North Western Deanery. He also completed two specialist fellowships, including a gene therapy research fellowship at the University of Oxford, Oxford Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, in addition to a medical and vitreoretinal surgery fellowship based at Oxford’s John Radcliffe Hospital and the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. Mr Jasani is an appointed fellow of both the European Board of Ophthalmology and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. With particular expertise in complex cataract surgery, management of diabetic eye diseases, and various vitreoretinal surgeries utilising micro-incisional techniques, he sees private patients at The Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, The Alexandra Hospital, and the Face and Eye Clinic.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Mr Jasani is actively involved in education, serving as a faculty member at the European School for Advanced Studies in Ophthalmology and as a lecturer at the University of Manchester Medical School. He is dedicated to training fellows and junior ophthalmic surgeons from all over the world at his base at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. Mr Jasani has contributed numerous academic publications which appear in peer-reviewed journals and has given many presentations at renowned national and international ophthalmology conferences.
Mr Jasani has undertaken a number of charitable projects throughout his career, performing ophthalmic surgeries for patients in need in countries including India and Cambodia.
