Mr Manzar Saeed is a highly respected consultant ophthalmic surgeon based in Norfolk and central London. He is renowned for his expertise in cataracts and refractive lens surgery including multifocal, toric implants and ICL.
He is also a retinal specialist and offers treatment for macular hole, epiretinal membrane, eye floaters, retinal detachment and diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration and retinal vein occlusion. He takes all general ophthalmology referrals including glaucoma, corneal disease, dry eyes, lid disorders and laser treatment for a number of ophthalmic conditions.
Mr Saeed is a graduate of King Edward Medical College, Lahore, Pakistan. He achieved his Higher Specialist Training in Ophthalmology in London deanery and the West of Scotland Training Scheme UK and achieved the CCST (Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training) in 2006. He worked at some of the world renowned institutions including King’s College, St Thomas’, Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Tenant Institute in Glasgow.
Mr Saeed is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of London and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Mr Saeed is the senior most consultant ophthalmic surgeon at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn NHS Foundation Trust since 2008, where he has been the head of department for number of years. He is the vitreoretinal (VR) service lead. His dedication to implementing the service was recognised with a Clinical Excellence Award in 2012. He is also a lead for high volume cataract service.
He has performed well over 15,000 lens procedures including some of the most complex cataract cases. His special area of interest is multifocal and toric lens implants. He also offers intraocular contact lens (ICL) surgery for laser unsuitable patients or as an alternative to Lasik.
Mr Saeed currently teaches medical students from both the University of Cambridge and the University of East Anglia and is also involved in the training of junior optometrists and ophthalmologists. He trains ophthalmic trainee surgeons and vitreoretinal fellows. He is a former external examiner for the MSc optometry course at the City University, London. He regularly presents at key meetings in the field of ophthalmology and his academic work appears in peer-reviewed journals.
Mr Saeed sees private patients at the Fakenham Medical Practice Norfolk and at Harley Street in London. He also has a private clinic at the West Norfolk Eye Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn. He is recognised by all the main health insurance providers.
