Mr Mostafa Elgohary is an esteemed consultant ophthalmologist with significant experience in the treatment of retinal disorders and vitreoretinal surgery. His specialist interests include complex and complicated cataract surgery, macular hole repair, diabetic eye disease, vitreous haemorrhage, and retinal detatchment surgery.
Mr Elgohary graduated with distinction and honours from Tanta University, Egypt, going on to train as a specialist registrar in ophthalmology on the North Thames rotation, and as a fellow in vitreoretinal surgery at the celebrated Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Mr Elgohary is also trained in paediatric ophthalmology, through his experience at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada.
He is actively involved in education and research, and has presented research both nationally and internationally, while also acting as senior instructor for several courses at international ophthalmology meetings. Mr Elgohary frequently lectures at University College London for the Ophthalmology MSc course, and his research on retinal detachment and macular hole surgery has been published in several peer-reviewed articles and journals.
