So many horror stories about how painful this operation is: I can honestly say that I experienced nothing stronger than “soreness”.
I think the keyhole technique has really transformed the patient experience.
A nursing friend who’s witnessed a number of friends undergo this op said mine appears to have been the least intrusive and with the best outcome.
I would add that I was single minded about elevating my foot 24/7 and conscious at all stages not to take any chances just because everything felt fine.
I’m very happy to have been privileged to receive this care - and to have a pain free left foot at last!

Dr Redfern is a wonderful and skilled surgeon. I feel very lucky to have found him to do the operation for me. I trust him 100% and he is also super friendly and charming which is an added bonus!

Mr Redfern listened carefully to my concerns and explained the procedure in clear layman’s terms. He offered further explanation when asked and was kind and gentle when handling the injured ankle.
I felt secure and trusted his skill as a surgeon as well as feeling confident that he treats his patients as people and not just things to operate on!

Outstanding professional and constructive consultation. Mr Redfern positively encouraged and appreciated detailed questions about my potential bunion surgery and was willing to take additional time to discuss them. He is candid and engenders trust and confidence because his practice is evidence--based, as is clear from his website.

Very professional, explained everything about my operation to me & made me feel confident that it would go well, as well as my recovery. Everything went as he said it would. He listened to what I had to say in follow up appointments & I believe he cares about his patients. I am very happy with the care I received from Mr Redfern & so happy I went ahead with the operation as I have had an excellent outcome which has improved my life & confidence in many ways already.

Very happy with the surgical procedure Dr Redfern did 3 years ago (hallux valgus). Recovery time was minimal and painless. I would highly recommend him.
